Any preliminary rounds required before the main draw starts will be played Saturday 17/Sunday 18 March.
The courts will be reserved for the week 19th-23rd to allow the matches to be played from 5.45pm onwards. Tournament order of play to be published with draws and therafter on a daily basis.
The Plate competition will be run as usual for all 1st round losers who want to enter (maximum 16). All matches to be played to 15 on a point a rally basis, best of 5. Age groups based on age on or before 12th March.
£5 per event which includes all tournament court fees, will be collected by DD from the office unless cash or cheque handed over with entry. Plate event will be free of charge.
Semi Final night and Finals will have referees and the guarantee of decent matches.
The draws and results will be on the website so easy to follow progress.
The Handicaps have been dropped from this tournament, the idea being that the Club will run a specific Handicap tournament later in the year, possibly around September time to coincide with the end of the Summer season, just at the time people are coming back to squash after holidays/tennis etc.
To encourage entries from all playing standards, we have introduced the League Standard 7+ event. You do not have to be in leagues to enter this event and it does not preclude entry into any other events.
The leagues will be worked around the tournament, but as the tournament is only a week this time, it shouldn’t affect this too much.
The bar will be open each night, so even if you’re not playing, come down and support the tournament.
Food and prize giving on the Saturday Finals night, so come along and watch some great squash.
Looking for big entries again this year and hoping for some FA Cup style upsets along the way!
